Internal mail tracking is knowing where each of those things is, from the moment it arrives to the moment the right person holds it.
Who it is for. Where it is now. Whether they know it has come.

When that is clear, nothing gets lost. When it isn’t, someone waits for something that arrived days ago, sitting in a pile nobody has looked through.

Why do deliveries go missing?

Because in a busy building, it passes through a lot of hands.
It comes in. It waits somewhere. Eventually it reaches the right desk.
Or it doesn’t.

A parcel put down and forgotten. A letter handed to the wrong person. Nobody quite sure who took what.
Most of the time it is a small thing. Until it isn’t.

How does it actually work?

Quietly, in the background. Which is rather the point.

When something arrives, a member of staff scans it on their phone. No special equipment, just the phone already in their pocket. The person it belongs to is told it is here. And when they come to collect it, that moment is captured too, so there is always a record of who has what.

They never see any of this. They just get their delivery.

Where does it matter most?

Where a lot of deliveries passes through very few people.

A hospital, where a specimen cannot sit in the wrong tray. A student hall in September, buried under a thousand parcels in a week. A law firm, where the wrong envelope in the wrong hands is a real problem.
