About Bpost
Bpost is Belgium's national postal operator, handling letters, parcels and international mail for homes and businesses across the country. Alongside doorstep delivery it runs a dense network of pick-up points and parcel lockers, so an item that cannot be delivered to the door is often waiting nearby for collection.
Most Bpost parcels carry full scan history from acceptance to delivery. Ordinary untracked letters have no scan trail, so there is nothing to look up - the tracker only works for parcels and registered or tracked items.
Bpost tracking number formats
A Bpost domestic parcel code is a long run of digits, frequently starting 323. International tracked and registered items instead use the universal S10 format: two letters, nine digits and the country code BE. You will find the number on the sender's dispatch email, your receipt, or the parcel label.
Bpost tracking statuses explained
- AnnouncedBpost has been notified of the shipment and is expecting the parcel, but has not yet taken physical custody of it.
- In transitThe parcel is moving through the Bpost network between sorting centres. Expect quiet gaps between scans.
- Out for deliveryThe item is with a driver on the delivery round and should arrive that day.
- DeliveredHanded over at the address. For businesses this means reception or the mailroom received it - not yet the named recipient.
- Available at a pick-up pointHeld at a bpost point or parcel locker for collection. Bring ID and the reference or collection code.
Bpost tracking FAQs
How do I track a Bpost parcel?
Enter your tracking number into the tracker above. Domestic parcels use a long numeric code (often starting 323); international items use an S10 code like RR123456789BE. You'll see each scan from Announced to Delivered.
What does a Bpost tracking number look like?
A domestic parcel number is a long string of digits, frequently beginning 323. International tracked items follow the S10 format: two letters, nine digits and BE - for example RR123456789BE.
Why is my Bpost tracking not updating?
Tracking normally pauses between scans, such as overnight in transit, during a cross-border handoff, or while an item waits at a pick-up point. If there's been no scan for several days, ask the sender to raise an enquiry with Bpost.
What does “delivered” mean at a business address?
For an office, campus or apartment block, “delivered” means Bpost handed the parcel to reception or a mailroom - not to the named person. Internal tracking software like Traizr takes over from that point.
Can Traizr track Bpost parcels automatically?
Traizr tracks parcels once they reach your building: staff scan each item in, the recipient is notified automatically, and a signature is captured on collection - a complete chain of custody from courier to recipient.
Common Bpost tracking problems
Waiting at a bpost point
If delivery to the door failed, the parcel is usually available at a nearby bpost point or locker. Take ID and the collection code shown in your tracking or notification.
Left with a neighbour
Bpost may hand a parcel to a neighbour when no one is in. The delivery note or tracking event says who accepted it - check there before assuming it's lost.
Stuck at the international handoff
Cross-border parcels can sit quietly while they pass between postal operators or clear customs. Long gaps at this stage are normal; give it a few working days.
Says delivered but not received
At a business, it's usually with reception or the mailroom. Check there first - this is exactly the internal gap Traizr closes.
What happens after “Delivered”?
For a home address, delivery is the end of the story. For an office, university, hospital or apartment building, it's only halfway: the parcel has reached the door, but it still has to travel from reception to the person it's actually for. That internal leg is invisible to Bpost - and it's where parcels most often go missing.
Traizr picks up exactly where the courier scan ends, giving your building the same visibility for the internal journey that Bpost gives for the external one.
